Central Board of Direct Tax has extended the due date for filing of Income Tax Return for the tax payers whose accounts are not subject to Audit till December 31, 2020. So for the small and middle class businessman, salaried employees, the due date of filing of Income Tax return is December 31, 2020. The due date of payment of Self Assessment Tax for the F.Y. 2019-20 is also extended to December 31, 2020.
For the taxpayers, whose Accounts are subject to Audit under the Income Tax Act or any other Act or who is required to file reports on International or Specified Domestic Transactions, the due date for filing of Income Tax Return is extended till January 31, 2020.
However the due date for filing of Tax Audit report and report on International or specified domestic transactions is extended to December 31, 2020. So The taxpayer has to file its Tax Audit Report in Form 3CA/3CB/3CD or Transfer Pricing Report inform 3CEB till December 31, 2020 but it may file its Income Tax return till January 31, 2020.
The Government had earlier extended the due dates for all Income Tax return for the Financial Year 2019-20 relevant to the Assessment Year 2020-21 to November 31, 2020.
